A small (just under 3”) leather patch made from finest quality, top grain, vegetable tanned leather. Hand tooled/carved by me in my Sheffield workshop.
I drew the design out on paper before then transferring that design to the leather. It was then cut out with a specialised knife, stamped with small embossing tools around 3mm wide, and went through a two day long dyeing process to highlight the cuts and impressions.
The circle was cut free hand, and the edges have been burnished smooth with wax and oil. Supplied with a protective top coat on and over time, this leather will turn a gorgeous golden brown with use.
